Eugene F. Ferraro, Founder

Eugene F. Ferraro, CPP, CFE, PCI, SPHR is the founder and current CEO of Business Controls, Inc. He has been a corporate investigator for over 29 years. Specializing in the investigation and prevention of workplace violence, employee dishonesty, fraud, harassment, discrimination, substance abuse, and misconduct in the workplace, he has conducted thousands of investigations for employers (public and private) throughout the United States and elsewhere. His clients include some of the most successful corporations, law firms and insurance companies in the country. His expertise includes loss prevention/asset protection and security management, negligent and inadequate investigation, negligent hiring, supervision and retention. He is also a published author and book critic, and lectures frequently on the topics of workplace investigations, applicant screening and employee misconduct prevention and intervention. Mr. Ferraro is board certified in both Security and Human Resources Management. He has been a member of ASIS International since 1987 and currently serves as the Program Advisor for the Professional Certified Investigator Review course.  He is a member of the ASIS International Standards and Guidelines Commission and recently co-chaired the oversight of the development of the new ANSI standard on workplace violence prevention and intervention.  He has written numerous articles on the topic of workplace investigations and interviews and interrogation for Security Management magazine and is a frequent book critic for the magazine.  Mr. Ferraro is also the author of nine books, of which Investigations in the Workplace, Second Edition (2012) is his most recent, and it may be found wherever quality books are sold.

Steven Foster, President

Mr. Foster’s 25 years of unique and diversified executive and operational leadership experience combines enterprise Governance, Risk & Compliance expertise, and expert knowledge regarding convergence of security and technology, as well as top level consulting and training in EEO/Internal Controls matters. Mr. Foster’s expertise is rooted in developing integrated SaaS technology solutions in the Governance, Risk and Compliance space. Mr. Foster frequently lectures across the country on the topics related to risk management, ethics and corporate compliance, conducting ethical workplace investigations, fraud, workplace violence, and the convergence of technology and security. He is a recognized Federal Court Expert Witness in the areas of Security Assessment, Analysis and Implementation.

Mr. Foster is board certified in Security Management (CPP designation) and in Case Management for Internal Investigations (PCI designation) by ASIS International and is National Chair of the ASIS Business Practices Council and an ASIS National CPP Review Course Instructor.

Mr. Foster has spoken throughout the United States on various topics to include Convergence of Physical & Data Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Personnel Security, Security Principles & Practices, Legal Challenges in Human Resources and Business Principle & Practices. He is a frequent guest on television and radio making regular public appearances. Mr. Foster was a consultant for the ADT University for Alarm and Security Equipment professionals for three years. He has worked with many organizations in the development of corporate ethics and compliance programs, facility security manuals and emergency plans.

Mr. Foster has received numerous certifications and completed many specialized training programs. Prior to entering the business world Mr. Foster was a law enforcement officer both civilian and military organizations. In his military and law enforcement career Mr. Foster received over 20 awards and medals for bravery and heroism.

Mr. Foster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College and graduated from the U.S. Air Force Security Police Academy and the Aurora Colorado Police Academy.

Teresa A. Foster, Chief Financial Officer

Teresa Foster has 16 years of experience supervising and managing the corporate financial reporting process, including four years with Chateau Communities, one of the largest owner/operators of manufactured home communities. At Chateau Communities, she was responsible for the entire property accounting portfolio, including team management of corporate accountants throughout the United States.

Ms. Foster also worked for Werner Enterprises, a transportation company in Omaha, Nebraska. There she specialized in high-volume transactions by processing and preparing 401(k) financial statements for hundreds of employees. She was team lead for cost allocation projects.

Ms. Foster also is experienced in SEC reporting, project management, team building, foreign currency, budgeting, asset management, cash flow analysis and capital expenditures. She has been recognized for redesigning the financial process and shortening the timing of financial reporting; and led the design and implementation of cash shortage reduction plans and administration of incentive programs throughout several organizations.

Ms. Foster holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Buena Vista University.

Ricky G. Bennett, Vice President, Professional Services

Ricky G. Bennett leads the consultative and investigative divisions of Business Controls, Inc.  Mr. Bennett oversees workplace investigations concerning allegations of misconduct regarding topics such as EEO, sexual harassment, harassment, discrimination, or fraud, in a myriad of employment settings.  Mr. Bennett is a recognized subject matter expert in the specific areas of substance abuse, theft, and workplace violence investigations.  Additionally, Mr. Bennett has been trained by the United States Secret Service in risk and violence assessment.

As a past CEO of a large law enforcement organization, Mr. Bennett is adept at analyzing corporate policies and developing preventive solutions to strengthen internal controls in the workplace.   Mr. Bennett has extensive experience in implementing training programs and protocol development for workplace violence prevention within organizations across all industry sectors.

Mr. Bennett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Missouri Southern State University.  He has further obtained a Master of Arts in Management and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development, both from Webster University.  Mr. Bennett currently serves as an affiliate faculty member at Regis University in Denver, Colorado.  Prior to joining Business Controls, Mr. Bennett served as Chief of Police for the City of Aurora, Colorado - the second largest municipal police force in the state.  During his tenure as Chief of Police, Mr. Bennett managed various investigative units and was responsible for setting agency policy, managing internal investigations, and determining corrective actions resulting in disciplinary actions.   He has over 30 years of experience in the criminal justice field.

Eileen Persichetti, Vice President, Operations

Ms. Persichetti's extensive background in client relationships and Human Resources guides the workflow management, technical support, and staffing for Business Controls' software, business development, and support teams for MySafeWorkplace®, MySafeCampus®, MySafeSchool®, and MySafeHospital® clients.  She consults with clients about communication strategies and employee awareness campaigns and alerts them to risk management and loss prevention opportunities.  She also manages the supporting vendor relationships, including call center operations and application design and hosting.  Under Ms. Persichetti's tenure at Business Controls, the client base has increased over 66% and client retention has grown to an impressive 96% or above.  The MySafe™ family of products now includes more than 1.3 million subscribers located in 130 countries throughout the world.

Before Business Controls, Ms. Persichetti was Vice President of Client Management for CallConnect Communications, Inc., and its predecessor, Consumer Health Services.  Ms. Persichetti directed the development, testing, and rollout of new services relating to healthcare and benefits call handling and transactions.  She developed and managed teams of account managers, systems specialists, and technical writers who created custom employment and benefit policies and plans, procedural instructions, and case management escalation protocols.

For the State of Colorado, Ms. Persichetti worked at Colorado State University, the University of Colorado and the Health Sciences Center, the Colorado State Auditor, and finally served as the program manager for the governing board of the Colorado State Personnel System and administrator of the personnel adjudication process.  Ms. Persichetti is a graduate of Colorado State University.
