Eugene F. Ferraro Honored with ASIS Presidential Award of Merit

(Greenwood Village, CO) October 21, 2010 — On October 13, 2010, during the annual meeting at the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Dallas, ASIS president Joseph R. (Bob) Granger, CPP honored NCISS president Eugene F. Ferraro, CPP. CFE, PCI, SPHR with the organization’s Presidential Award of Merit.

Mr. Granger detailed the award during the presentation:

“This Presidential Award of Merit is given in recognition of those members that have individually contributed years of dedication and service to our Society. These individuals are truly outstanding educators and teachers and have given, and continue to give, their time and knowledge to fulfill the primary mission and goal of ASIS International by providing for the needs of the membership through quality educational offerings, thus advancing the security profession worldwide.”

Gene, in his own modest way, announced to colleagues after receiving the award, “This has been a very pleasant surprise.” Gene’s friends and colleagues know it’s an award well deserved, considering his long service to the investigative and security professions and the many hours he has contributed to ASIS. 

As the CEO and Founder of Business Controls, Mr. Ferraro has been a corporate investigator for over 28 years and frequently lectures on the topics of workplace investigations, applicant screening, and employee misconduct prevention and intervention. He is also the author of eight books on investigatory techniques.  His most recent work, Investigations in the Workplace, is used as a textbook at universities across the nation.  Mr. Ferraro has competently testified in over 300 criminal and civil matters. His expertise has been accepted by state courts and arbitrators around the country.
